I believe the physician-patient relationship is vital to the therapeutic process of endocrine disorders, which are most often chronic diseases that need life-long care.

Biography

Dr. Ionescu established herself with a private practice in Tennessee and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at East Tennessee State University from 1999 - 2004. Upon relocating to Illinois, she successfully completed an Endocrinology Fellowship at University of Illinois - Chicago in 2004. She earned her medical degree from Carol Davila University of Medicine, Romania, and completed clinical training in Endocrinology at Cochin Port- Royal, France, an endocrinology residency at the National Institute of Endocrinology in Romania, and a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago/Christ Hospital and Medical Center, where she earned top honors. Dr. Ionescu is board certified in Internal Medicine and has conducted and participated in research on a variety of internal medicine issues. Her practice will focus on the treatment of endocrine organs - the pituitary, thyroid, adrenals, ovaries, testes and pancreas - and hormonal imbalances. She is fluent in English, French and Romanian and welcomes you to her practice.
